#002 Day 1 of Season 2

Ok so I booted up Starcraft today to be greeted with the updater, as patch 1.3 has been released today. With this patch comes the aforementioned end of season 1, and the reset of scores. Today begins my march to glory!!!

The Starcraft leagues are as follows: Bronze > Silver > Gold > Platinum > Diamond > Master League > Grand Master League

Now I've played a fair few games in the Bronze league now, and it hasn't been a walkover, but I think with enough time and practice Silver league is definitely possible. Gold? It'll be tough, but maybe. Anything higher than that would just be ridiculous (remember, people actually get PAID to play this game in some parts of the world!).

So sit back, relax, and get ready to judge and mock me as I ultimately fail in my effort to achieve this dream.

GAME 1 - A new day has dawned...

Terran vs Terran. Not my favourite matchup, but I'd say there's more Terrans, especially in the lower leagues than the other races. Playing against a chap called KosKillGR. None of the old "gl hf" business at the start. As Torres said, there's no romance in the game any more.

My opponent destroyed my entire army on a couple of occasions during this game, but just sat in his base and failed to capitalise. I ended up having enough money and production facilities to re-build my army really quickly, and once I had all the infantry upgrades and medivac support they made short work of his defences.

So after 1 game the league looks like this.

16 points for the win! I don't really understand how these points accumulate as I was favoured in this matchup, but i'm sure we'll figure it out in due course. Now then, lets crack on and get out of this bronze league eh?

#001 So It Begins...

This is my brand spanking new blog about Starcraft 2. I've been playing since January, and so far have a record of 71 games, 25 wins. Yes, this is pathetic.

Fortunately for me however, Blizzard are ending Season 1 this Wednesday, and my scores will be reset, huzzah! To make the most of this opportunity I have decided to take my time to analyse my games in an effort to get better. What better way to do this than with a blog! So i'll be analysing some of my matches, and giving regular updates on my progress. Watch this space...

In the meantime, check out the replay of my EPIC defence of a Protoss cannon rush, hot off the press! Yeah you heard, it is epic.

(If I get chance I may well do a commentary on this and stick it on Youtube).
